Caño Cristales (English: Crystal Channel)
Meta Department, Colombia

The river is commonly called the “River of Five Colors” or the “Liquid Rainbow”
During certain months of the year, Colombia’s Caño Cristales turns shades of red, blue, yellow, orange and green in a vibrant natural display that happens nowhere else on Earth.

Caño Cristales is not accessible by road; instead tourists will have to fly into La Macarena, then organise a short transfer to the Serrania de la Macarena National Park, where they can then make the last part of the journey by foot or on horseback.
